The Registrar Office is the backbone of a university as it plays a vital role in facilitating from the day a student enrolls into the system till the day the student graduates. The Registrar Office takes the responsibility of being the guardian and custodian of all the students’ academic and personal data. At the University of Baltistan, Skardu, we partner with students, faculty members & staff to promote excellence through curriculum innovation, community-building, secure and accurate academic information, and a robust and responsive registration infrastructure. We are the BRIDGE between the academic system and the allied academic support system of the university.
The Office of the Registrar is committed primarily to the service of faculty and students of the university by assisting in the interpretation and application of regulations, rules, and guidelines. We primarily act as a facilitator and coordinators for students, faculty, and staff as they pursue the academic and administrative goals of the university. The Office of the Registrar provides a conducive environment by maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and accuracy of academic and personal records of faculty at the University of Baltistan, Skardu.
The Office of the Registrar promotes simplicity and openness by encouraging continuous improvement and achieving objectives amicably. This office also fosters a spirit of teamwork and encourages a constructive environment through an inclusive approach.
The Role and Responsibilities of the Registrar
The Registrar is the full-time officer of the University and the administrative head of the secretariat of the University and is responsible for the provision of secretariat support to the Authorities of the University.
The Registrar is the custodian of the common seal and academic records of the University. He also maintains a register of reregistered graduates in the prescribed manner. He supervises the process of election, appointment, or nomination of a member to the various authorities and other bodies in a prescribed manner, and performs such other duties as may be prescribed.
He represents the University to various institutional divisions as well as externally to governmental agencies, vendors, students, and their parents, and/or to the general public and oversees the overall operations of programs reporting to this position. The Registrar recommends and participates in the development of university policies and procedures, and may serve on University planning and policy-making committees, and he also collaborates with the representative of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, and other national, state, and local organizations on the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.
