Short introduction

I have recently completed my PhD study(2015–2018) at Chinese Academy of Sciences, China under CAS-TWAS president’s fellowship Programme. My PhD research topic “Ecological integrity assessment of alpine lotic ecosystems” was focused on aquatic ecology and freshwater biology of high-mountain streams in KarakoramMts. in Pakistan. I am an author or co-author of 25 international papers. My areas of research include stream biomonitoring, stream benthic macroinvertebrates identification and benthic macroinvertebrates ecology with a special focus on freshwater communities. I am interested in drivers of community structuring of benthic macroinvertebrates at different spatial & temporal scales, evaluation of changes in aquatic ecosystems under different scenario of climate change and responses to multiple stressors (e.g., nutrient enrichment, climate warming), and bioassessment based on multi-metric approach. I have more than six years’ experience in conservation and development of sustainable management of aquatic ecosystems and environmental legislation in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan
