International Seminar on Unity in Diversity
University of Baltistan, Skardu (UoBS) organized and hosted an International Seminar on, “Unity in Diversity: National Integration & Social Cohesion Through Interfaith Harmony & Dialogue”, in Marriott Hotel Islamabad. The guests & Key Note Speakers include Mr. Shafqat Mehmud Federal Minister for Education, Mr. Ali Muhammad Khan Federal Minister Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Noor-Ul-Haq Qadri Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. M. Naeem Khan VC UoBS, Prof. Dr. M. Ali Shah VC QAU, Prof. Dr. Zia-Ul-Qayyum VC AIOU, Dr. Nadeem-Ul-Haq VC PIDE, Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai Rector IIUI, Prof. Dr. Sara Safdar Dean Faculty of Social Science University of Peshawar, Prof Mehrdad Ex. Secretary Education GB, General Samreez Salik, Senator Krishna Kumari, Archbishop Joseph Arshad, Raja Shafqat Abbasi Ex. Judge LHC, Dr. Qibla Ayaz Chairman Council of Islamic ideology, Humphery Sarfaraz Peters and few more speakers and panelists graced the occasion. Participants from all walk of life attended the seminar.
Vice Chancellor, University of Baltistan, Skardu & Principal Officers attended a Dinner Reception hosted by the Catholic Diocese of Islamabad-Rawalpindi at St. Joseph's Cathedral, Rawalpindi.
The dinner reception was hosted at St. Joseph's Church, Rawalpindi, after the conclusion of UoBS "International Seminar on Unity in Diversity" held @ Marriott Hotel on August 20, 2020.
On arrival at St. Joseph's Church, Lal Kurti, Rawalpindi, the team UoBS was given a warm welcome by His Grace, Excellency, Archibishop Joseph Arshad, Archibishop of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Catholic Dioces.
Archibishop blessed the guests with a special prayer service at St. Joseph Cathedral, arranged in the honour of the visiting guests from Baltistan University.
Prayer service was followed by a guided tour of historic St. Joseph's Church, where Vice Chancellor & Archibishop addressed the small congregation.
Later on a sumptuous dinner was offered in honour of the Vice Chancellor and his team by His Grace, Archbishop Joseph Arshad @ Archibishop House, St. Joseph Church, Rawalpindi.
In addition to Vice Chancellor, the dinner reception was attended by Dr. Haji Karim, Dr. Zakir Hussain, Engineer Idrees Abbasi, Dr. Ghulam Raza, Raja Shafqat Abbasi, ASC and Father Gulshan Barkat from Catholic Institute of Theology, Karachi, along with local fathers and priests.
