Introduction:
POWERFULL (King Beverages) & Pak Adventures in order to contribute to health and fitness and promote sports and tourism is organizing an Ultra Marathon Race 500 Km with the support of GB Sports and Tourism department and technical support of Pakistan Road Runners.  Marathon is a long-distance competitive run, strictly one of 26 miles 385 yards (42.195 km). Further modified in to half marathon, and Ultramarathon. An Ultramarathon, also called ultra-distance or ultra-running, is any footrace longer than the traditional marathon length of 42.195 kilometers (26 mi 385 yd).  More than 800 marathons are held throughout the world each year, with the vast majority of competitors being recreational athletes, whereas larger marathons can have tens of thousands of participants. The POWERFULL Ultra Marathon from Khunjerab 500 km Run is an outdoor running event organized by Pakistan Road Runners! Starting from Khunjerab Pass in a time period of 8 days. During the last days of 2020, two legendry athletes are attempting to make a Pakistani record i.e. 500km Run along with three others. The main purpose to organize this event is to promote healthy outdoor activities, marathons/Ultra Marathons, and tourism.

International Mountain Day with UNDP

(Mountains Matter)

 

University of Baltistan, Skardu celebrated International Mountains Day in collaboration with UNDP at Anchan Braqbu today with jovial spirit to protect, preserve and develop mountain valleys. The celebration journey started from UOBS Anchan Campus led by Vice Chancellor UOBS Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan followed by representatives of UNDP, the renown Mountaineer Samina Baig, Little Karim, hundreds of faculty staff and students from UOBS, Women Degree College Skardu, Army Public school, Media personnel and District administrative officers. A trek of almost twenty KM was sited for climbing near SarfaRanga Desert. After the hectic and tough climbing all the participants reached to the top of Anchan Braqbu where the celebration cake was cut. The Worthy VC UOBS, Samina Baig, Little Karim and the country Director UNDP addressed the audience. Dr. Zakir Hussain briefed the participants about the event being celebrated.
Apart from the celebration at the peak, participants enjoyed the cold view of the mountain valleys, on one side Skardu city and Hussainabad, on another side Shigar Valley and Kwardo valleys. The panoramic view of these valleys gave soothing spell to the participants. The heavily flowing Indus River beneath Anchan Braqbu was another hallmark for the mountain lovers who were gathered at the peak to celebrate the International Mountains Day. In the end, souvenirs of University of Baltistan, Skardu were distributed to the guests including Country Director UNDP, Samina Baig, Little Apo Karim, and Principal APSC.
On this occasion the Worthy Vice Chancellor, announced Samina Baig School of Mountaineering at University of Baltistan and appointed Samina Baig as honorary Ambassador-at-large that she paid her solemn gratitude to the Vice Chancellor. After having a delicious lunch at the peak, all the participants of the event descended to the bottom.

University of Baltistan, Skardu Cheerfully Starts its Activities at Sarfa Ranga Cold Desert

(Skardu) University of Baltistan, Skardu started its activities at Sarfa Ranga today with great spell of enthusiasm and fervor. All the staff, faculty members, students including the worthy VC, Registrar and the principal officers followed UOBS event team and initiated its activities with Great Spirit showcasing academic and professional image of the varsity. UOBS is determined to promote culture and tourism of the region in collaboration with the district administration Baltistan region. The dedicated volunteers of UOBS entertained the visitors and provided them guidance regarding career counseling, admission at the university and about the culture, geography, and tourism of the region.

University of Baltistan, Skardu has strategically and mesmerizingly decorated and designed its stalls at Sarfa Ranga and warmly welcomes local, national and international visitors to the cultural and software exhibitions and business stalls. All the departments of UOBS are participating in Sarfa Ranga Cold Desert Event presenting innovative and research based projects. Wasimullah Jan Malik, Director Business Incubation Center UOBS as the Focal Person Sarfa Ranga Desert Rally is actively demonstrating his skills and potentials in managing the event activities smoothly.

UOBS Media Cell is specially offering its munificent coverage to Sarfa Ranga Desert Rally with its team members; Dr. Ghulam Raza, Advisor, Mr. Abdul Rehman, Focal Person, Mr. Asghar Ali, Designing Engineer and Mr. Imtaiz Hussain, Photographer and Cameraman. On the other hand, UOBS Media Cell has achieved number of volunteers who are also actively working and showing their expertise and skills for grooming.

The specialty of UOBS stalls is really noteworthy that the innovative and mind-blowing presentation of Computer Science Department. The students and faculty putting ideas in action have brought tremendous revolution in the field of information technology. The salient features of the IT Stall are the 3D Game on Sarfa Ranga Desert Jeep Rally, developed by a student of Computer Science Mr. Khadim Hussain a supervisee of Dr. Irshad and LMS and CMS proving to be the great asset in the academia which minimizes the burden and workloads of the officials in the universities. The young energetic and dedicated scholars Dr. Mehdi Hasan and Dr. Munawar Abbas have been generously providing their scholastic and intellectual experiences and guidance in terms of career counseling to the students and other visitors at UOBS Stall at Sarfa Ranga.

Moreover, Department of Biological Science, Languages and Cultural Studies, Educational Development and Business Management have contributed a great deal in this event presenting numerous artifacts, species, business ideas, cultural antiquities etc. UOBS will stay there at Sarfa Ranga till 2nd September 2018 the closing day of this mega event.

University of Baltistan, Skardu Enthusiastically and Successfully Celebrated Jeeto Baltistan Show Today
Jeeto Baltistan Show was beautifully, enthusiastically and successfully celebrated under supervision of Business Incubation Center UOBS today at the varsity. The honorable Vice Chancellor and his family, Treasurer, Registrar, faculty and staff members and hundreds of students jovially attended the show Jeeto Baltistan A.R Mir K Saath at the university. There were number of interesting and motivating activities in the show hosted by AR Mir lecturer department of Languages and Cultural Studies. He entertained the audience investing his full energy of great zeal and zest that the audience stayed with him for continuously four hours in the show. The participants were given multiple gifts and packages for their active participation in the show which were sponsored by valued sponsors of the local market.
The honorable Vice Chancellor appreciated the innovative and productive efforts made by Director Business Incubation Center Wasimullah Jan Malik. He further said that certain activities truly demonstrate the natural and inborn capabilities of the students and faculty. He appreciated the performance of Mr. Abdul Rehman Mir for his potentials and skills in conducting the show as anchorperson and host. He further said that in future UOBS will establish Media Cell to explore the hidden talents and potentials of the students and faculty.
The Treasurer UOBS Rao Muhammad Sharif appreciating the participants and the organizing team of the show said that such a wonderful show itself testifies that this region has God gifted talent and potentials. He said that the reason behind the God gifted talent and show is the natural beauty and the environment of the region.
The Registrar UOBS Dr. Irsahd Ali also appreciated the wonderful performance of the participants and the organizing team members of the show and said that it is the moment of immense pleasure for him to express that the students and faculty have outstanding capabilities and potentials. He appreciated the efforts of Director BIC Mr. Wasimullah Jan Malik and Mr. Abdul Rehman Mir lecturer department of Languages and Cultural Studies for their excellent performance.
Director Business Incubation Center Mr. Wasimullah Jan Malik thanked all the participants for attending the show for continuously four hours and presented a special gift to A.R Mir for exceptionally and exquisitely hosting the show for four hours. He said that BIC is not only limited to Business Administration but it has widespread importance in every sphere of life. He further said that we will provide assistance and resources to the market where it is required and applicable.
