Roles & Functions of Faculty Councils

Faculty Councils are academic bodies responsible for coordinating and supervising teaching, research, and examination activities within their respective faculties. They ensure academic standards and facilitate inter-departmental collaboration.

Recommend curriculum development and revisions for undergraduate and postgraduate programs

Approve course contents, syllabi, and reading materials for all programs

Coordinate and promote research activities within the faculty

Oversee student admissions, examinations, and academic progression

Recommend faculty appointments, promotions, and development programs

Prepare academic calendar and schedule of examinations

Facilitate collaboration between departments within the faculty

Monitor academic standards and quality assurance measures

Approve research proposals and thesis topics for postgraduate students

Recommend conferment of degrees to the Academic Council

Address student grievances related to academic matters

Coordinate with other faculties and academic bodies of the university
