Functions & Responsibilities of BASR

The Board of Advanced Studies & Research (BASR) is responsible for promoting, coordinating, and supervising postgraduate studies and research activities across the University. It ensures maintenance of academic standards in research programs.

Approve new postgraduate programs (MPhil, PhD) and research initiatives

Monitor quality and standards of research degrees across departments

Approve research proposals, thesis topics, and supervision panels

Recommend policies for research funding, grants and scholarships

Oversee research ethics, integrity and compliance procedures

Coordinate with external research bodies and funding agencies

Review and recommend improvements to research infrastructure

Approve research collaborations, partnerships and MoUs

Supervise admission, progression and examination of research students

Promote research publications, conferences and seminars

Recommend conferment of research degrees to the Senate

Monitor implementation of research policies and guidelines
